Samsung Galaxy Trifold Rumors: Release Date, Design, And Price Insights

Rumors surrounding Samsung’s long-anticipated Galaxy Trifold have gained momentum in recent months, with industry watchers suggesting that the device could make its debut before the end of 2025. Some reports indicate that Samsung may unveil the tri-folding phone at a September Unpacked event, while others suggest a later launch in October with sales beginning in November. What appears more certain is that production will be limited at first, with Samsung reportedly planning an initial run of around 50,000 units, signaling a cautious approach as the company tests consumer demand for this new form factor.

The design of the Galaxy Trifold is expected to set it apart from existing foldables like the Huawei Mate XT or the recently launched Mate XTs — Leaks point to a dual-hinge, inward-folding mechanism that allows the device to collapse into a compact form while protecting the display.

When fully unfolded, it could offer a screen size of about 10 inches, effectively turning the phone into a small tablet, while the cover screen is rumored to measure around 6.5 inches. Samsung has filed trademarks for names such as “Galaxy Z TriFold” and “Galaxy G Fold,” though the final branding remains undecided. One UI software animations labeled “Multifold 7” have further fueled speculation about the device’s unique three-panel layout and multitasking capabilities.

Durability has been a key concern for foldable devices, and Samsung is expected to address this with the Galaxy Trifold. Reports suggest the phone will incorporate improved ultra-thin glass to reduce crease visibility and withstand up to 500,000 folds. Enhancements to the hinge system, borrowed from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, should also contribute to reliability. In addition to core improvements, the device is rumored to support wireless and reverse wireless charging, NFC, and other premium features that align it with Samsung’s flagship portfolio. Its inward-folding design also distinguishes it from competitors such as Huawei’s outward-folding Mate XT, offering better protection for the screen when closed.

Pricing is likely to place the Galaxy Trifold firmly in the premium category. Estimates suggest a starting price of around 4 million Korean won, or roughly $2,900, reflecting both the cost of the new form factor and the advanced materials involved. Initial availability may be restricted to markets such as South Korea and China, at least until production scales up. With this device, Samsung appears poised to extend its dominance in the foldable space, but whether the Galaxy Trifold becomes a niche luxury product or a mainstream breakthrough will depend on consumer response to its blend of innovation, durability, and price.
