No more iPhone 17 leaks. At its annual fall Apple Event today, Apple announced the iPhone 17, running iOS 26 with Liquid Glass. The company also introduced the super-thin iPhone Air (yep, it’s not called iPhone 17 Air).
iPhone 17
The iPhone 17 is on its own this year; there’s no “17 Plus” to accompany it. Compared to the iPhone 16, Apple increased the display from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, matching the screen real estate of the iPhone 16 Pro. The screen can reach 3,000 nits of peak brightness. The glass on the display is made of “Ceramic Shield 2,” which Apple says is 3x more scratch-resistant than previous iPhones.
As the regular iPhone 17, there’s again only two cameras on the rear instead of three—a 48-megapixel main camera and 48-megapixel ultrawide. The front-facing camera has a new feature called Center Stage that lets you take horizontal selfies while holding the phone vertically.
Under the hood, the iPhone 17 is powered by the new A19 chip, which Apple says is… more powerful. Because, of course, it’s more powerful. The device starts with 256GB of storage.

It’ll be available in several colors, including a new lavender.
Apple says it’s increased battery life—up to 8 hours longer than the iPhone 16.
