Super Bowl LX and the 2026 Olympic Winter Games are both officially in the rear-view mirror, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything new and exciting for sports fans to sink their teeth into. As per a new report from Cord Cutters News, the free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service MyFree DirecTV is officially set to launch a free Major League Baseball (MLB) channel as of tomorrow, February 24.
According to the news outlet, this new internet-based MLB channel will be accessible not only to paid DirecTV and DirecTV for Business subscribers, but also users of the free FAST tier. The MLB channel will broadcast content from both major and minor baseball leagues, with daily news content, highlights, game recaps, match replays, and more.

DirecTV swings just in time for baseball season
A home run for fans of both MLB and free FAST content
The next MLB baseball season is slated to start up in March, and so a February 24 launch date for this particular DirecTV FAST channel makes a lot of sense. Baseball is an incredibly popular sport across not only America, but also the globe. With this in mind, DirecTV is likely banking on a surge in viewership to kick off the baseball frenzy.
With MLB secured, DirecTV now hosts over 140 channels in total, with over 35 of them dedicated to sports-related content. ESPN, NBC Sports, Fox Sports, and others can all be accessed through the service, making it a cost-effective method for streaming sports matches without the need for cable, satellite, or paid streamers.
Of course, DirecTV isn’t the only player in the game, with growing competition from other FAST services like Tubi and Pluto TV. In any case, the increased competition in the free, ad-supported streaming space can only be a good thing for fans of film and TV, especially in light of today’s paid streaming service fee inflation.
