Holly’s Recipe Highlights: Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich

Total Time: 47 Mins Servings: 4 Burgers Cooking Method: Grilled
Ingredient Notes

- Chicken Breasts: Pound the chicken to an even ½-inch thickness so it cooks at the same rate and stays tender on the grill. Large chicken breasts can be sliced in half horizontally before pounding.
- Buns: Brioche rolls add a soft, slightly sweet flavor that pairs well with hot honey, while regular hamburger buns are sturdy and budget-friendly.
- Hot Honey: Used in both the marinade and the sauce, it adds sweet heat throughout the sandwich. Choose a mild or extra-spicy variety depending on your preferred heat level.
Variations
- No Hot Honey: Use regular honey with a pinch of chili flakes, cayenne, or a little hot sauce, or follow this hot honey recipe to make your own.
- Milder Sandwich: Skip the chili flakes and use lettuce, tomato, and pickles instead of pepper jack.
- Cheesy Version: Add pepper jack, cheddar, or provolone after grilling so it softens over the hot chicken.
